| Aren't the holidays funny? I almost totally forgot to update today because I had no idea it was Thursday until about an hour ago.
Okay, that's a lie, I remembered last night, but I forgot again.
Anyway - X-Men 2 comes out on Wednesday! Hooray! Already did a rant about that though. Rather, I'll have to do a rant about something else. I remember I had an idea for one about twenty minutes ago but I was having dinner at a friend's so I promptly forgot about it.
Isn't it funny how when you've just eaten, you tend to turn down offers of future food? My friends Sian and Troy came around this afternoon, and Sian invited me to dinner at her house. The idea seemed disgusting at the time - I had just had a coffee and a vanilla slice (which was delicious) and I was quite satiated. Hence when she declared "We're having satay!" my stomach immediately scremed "NOO!!!" So I followed my pattern of total indicisiveness, until she, knowing this pattern, grabbed my arm and said "You're coming to dinner." Good on her, the satay was great and once the time came around to have it I was pretty hungry, too.
She and Troy are planning to live together after school and I must say I have no great confidence in this, having just seen Ghost World the night before. Awesome movie, but incredibly depressing, and also involves two good friends who plan to live together once they've finished school. Their dreams go unfulfilled. Looking at it objectively, though, who knows, maybe they WILL get a place or whatever.
I of course have no plans of the sort. I live a quick bike ride away from the university I hope to attend and thus plan to stay living with my parents until I'm chief executive officer of my own corporation, or whatever the highest position would be of the career I end up following. Yay relatively free accommodation! |

Case modding is an intersting art.
I'm currently 'modding' a case. Last time I simply sprayed a case blue and yellow and cut a hole in the side. This time it's more involved. This case mode is all wood, baby. Actually, I'm just mounting some wooden panels on to a normal midi-tower PC case.
It's coming together quite nicely. The funny thing, the interesting thing with case-modding is the obsession it can easily become. I thought I just had a little hobby here, a sort of mini-project to work on in my spare time. But as Jacob pointed out, once you start, it's hard to stop. There's just so much available - goto PC Case Gear and have a browse. I just have this urge to go and buy more. And internet shopping is so easy...
I think I'll have to take it easy after this mod. I have an mp3 box to build, and what with the bright red cold cathode tube (that's a light), two fans & a side window, I think I've probably filled my case-modding quota for this year. In the mean-time, I stand out at LANs. Pity the internal hardware doesn't measure up to the woodgrain exterior... |
